Karen D. Cohen is an M.S. Diplomat,
CBT and CGP Diplomat in chemical dependency counseling, a certified cognitive behavioral therapist, and a certified
group psychotherapist. Karen Cohen has been a licensed Marriage and family therapist since 1987. She was the clinical program director for adult and adolescent outpatient drug and alcohol program
family services for 17 years. She was a clinical director for counseling services in a rape crisis counseling agency. Since
1989 Karen was an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne and Mount St. Mary’s College. She is also an intergenerational
family therapist and has given workshops in California, Boston, Virginia and London on multicultural intergenerational multi-family
therapy. She is a published author and has recently published a chapter in the book Intimate Partner and Family Abuse:A Casebook of Gender-Inclusive
Therapy.
